DIY Wedding Inspiration

It's wedding planning season and brides are looking for fresh, unique ways to include a little DIY wedding decor, so here is a little inspiration for you! This super simple DIY project would look beautiful behind a head table and can easily be extended to more than 3 rings. It would look amazing extended the full length of a bridal party table, or large wall feature for a photo-booth or behind a cake table. Here is a little info on how we did this and some photos for you to inspire you...Supplies:

  • rose gold spray paint (from Michaels)

  • silk greenery (from Michaels, using a 50% off coupon)

  • ribbon (from Michaels) I absolutely love long ribbons on a bouquet!

  • 3 or more hoola hoops (different sizes can be a nice option - dollar store)

  • clear fishing wire (dollar store)

  • flowers (there was a beautiful inexpensive variety at Wal-Mart - we did this in February so there were lots there for Valentines day, nice advantage to having a wedding in February)

We sprayed the hoola hoops in the rose gold paint and let them dry, wrapped the long greenery around the hoops, attached the hoops together with the fishing line and then hung them on the wall with the clear fishing wire. Again, so many options with how you hang them, and how you put the greenery on them to style it how you like it. I finished it off with some fresh cut flowers. I love the red with peach and pink blooms!!! This could also be done with silk flowers but fresh ones just kick it up a notch! I love the way it makes for such a beautiful backdrop for a head table, for bridal portraits. It would make for a great backdrop for a whole bridal session! This might be a nice idea for you too if you are planning an indoor wedding because of inclement weather. This session sure brightened up my days getting it together this winter! I'm sure you'll see me use these again in the future! Hope you love this idea as much as I do and it inspires you with some of your DIY wedding plans! Happy wedding planning brides!!! :)Many thanks to my beautiful, talented model Chloe Chapdelaine with Sophia Models International who made this session come to life!
